This one was made for a friend of my daughter's so I wanted to keep it a little simple but a little fun for a newly crowned teenager. Papers are from Echo Park (Hello Summer) metal sentiment tag is years and years old from Jo Ann's; embossing folder is from Darice (Honeycomb); flower is Micheal's; and big brad is from Bazzil. I have entered this card into the MFT sketch challenge as well as Card Makin' Mamas Birthday challenge.
Welcome to my distraction from the chaos of work, family, pets, and life in general!

Keeping it Simple with a Charm
I made this today for one of my daughter's friends. I don't often do "clean and simple" but it was a bit last minute! Used a Hero Arts background stamp, Cuttlebug embossing folder, and Verve sentiment stamp. Charm is from a really old set - my very first scrapbook "embellishment" purchase nearly 10 years ago!
Challenges:
Challenges:
- Alota Rubber Stamps - Make your Own Background
- Card Makin' Mamas - Clean and Simple
- Cuttlebug Spot - Circles
- MyGrafico - Anything Goes
- Shopping Our Stash - 2 items starting with "T" (Twine and Teal)
- Sweet Stamps - Anything Goes (I went to a stamp show in Grapevine TX where they had a booth - GREAT stamps!)

Black and White and Berry
Made another card tonight using the sketch for Alota Rubber Stamps. It's such a versatile sketch! Stuck to a very clean and simple look - just black and white with a touch of magenta. The center was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The color choice was inspired by Cupcake Craft Challenges #220.

Happy Birthday!
OK - it's not really anyone's birthday other than the 5th "birthday of Scrap Friendzy. There challenges alwasy make me think. This month, they have a total of 20 challenges. I chose #8 to start the month. The challenge was to scraplift a fabulous card by Wendy McKee. Oh, to have a fraction of her talent and eye but I kept it very basic as I have a lot to do this weekeend so trying not to get as hung up over things as I usually do. So now I have another birthdy card for my stash which was very needed as I was done to just one birthday card!
I began with using the same nine circles as the inspiration card but folded up the edges to add dimension, adding small flower brads to the center of each. All paper for the circles are from Echo Park (Paradise Beach and Hello Summer) and the ribbon is from Creative Charms.
Enjoy! Fingrs crossed I'll have a few more creations to post this weekend

I'm Back!!!!
Sorry for being out of touch for a while - a busy work week followed by a vacation to Florida. But fear not - I am back and slowly getting my mojo back.
First up is a card for Mojo Monday 253. The sentiment is from Verve (Happy Thoughts); the papers are from Recollections; the butterfly is modified from a cutting file available on Jennifer's Collector of Hobbies blog while the small butterflies were cut from the leftover background paper. The cutting was inspired by Cheryl's challenge this week over at Craft Your Nest - it really wasn't intentional that I also chose to cut out butterflies - it just worked with the paper I pulled out.
I'm using this card for DL.art's Happy Birthday Party, too!

Quick Birthday Card
OK - I admit it. This is not my typical style of card. BUT, all the elements were specifically requested by the buyer so we go with the flow :-)
The printed paper was from the very first pack of paper I bought nearly 9 years ago. It ws always a bit too pastel for my taste so I never used it - in fact, I have 5 of the original 10/12 sheets from the pack still totally untouched. And now it's only four! Way to work through my stash LOL. I'm happy to say that the simple act of using that long forgotten whole sheet of paper qualified me for the Use it Tuesday challenge asking use to use a sheet of uncut paper. And the sketch is from Unscripted Sketches - love their sketches for cards.
One regret - I wish I had matted the embossed blue paper - looking at the photo it just seems unfinsihed. Oh well - lessons learned.

Metal Yellow
I don't use yellow very often but it was a warm, sunny day here in Texas and the birds in the embossing inspired me to bring out the sunshine! And the embossed metal looks great with it! I used a Cuttlebug folder along with Bazzil Just the Edge borders I have had for ages. Silver dots from Jolees All That Bling and flower from Studio 18 ($1 for 36 flowers!), Will post this on the Mojo Monday challenge this week and Sketches4All February metal challenge hosted by Stacy. Enjoy!
