The design is based on a sketch from Mojo Monday Challenge # 235 and will also be used for Throwback Thursday over at My Creative Time (the great sentiment is from one of their stamp sets). The faux stitching I did around the scalloped matt is perfect for this week's DYSU challenge of Sew It!
Recipe:
- Papers = Paper Studio
- Gold cardstock = DCWV Metallic Stack
- Embossing Folder = Cuttlebug Devine Swirls
- Stamp = My Creative Time Mixed Holiday Sentiments
- Scalloped Matt = Platypus Creek Digital Scalloped & Lacy Circles
- Banner = Cricut Art Philosphy cartridge from Close to My Heart (a must have)
- Metallic Cord = Hobby Lobby
- Gold Gel pen used for "stitching" = Uni-Ball Signo (the best!)
Beautiful card, great sketch, and fab festive feel. Thanks for joining us at DYSU this week!
ReplyDeleteWell isn't this card just so PRETTY! Loving the papers and the cord! I couldn't agree with you more about the Art Philosphy cartridge! I also like the idea you are starting early with making Christmas cards! Way to go! Thanks for joining us over at MCT ~ Throwback Thursday!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, but how do you get motivated? I need the music and TV commercials! LOL! Great card! Jan- DYSU DT

Hi Lisa, Fran here from the cissyandfranshow, thank you for joining the blog hop. We are neighbors in the Dallas area, are you going to the SITS bootcamp in September? Do you ever go to Stamping Asylum in Plano? Which scrapbook store do you like to go to locally?
ReplyDeleteThis card is really a textural beauty, I love all the designs in it, very well thought out and executed. Don't you just love blogs and all the fun things you see and the fun people you meet along the way
Fran - apologies for the delayed response... Hey neighbor! I have heard of Stamping Asylum but haven't gotten down there yet. I am unoriginal (or just lazy) and tend to stick to the big box shops - especially Hobby Lobby (and Michaels' dollar bin is always my downfall...) I am going to the Great American Scrapbook convention in Arlington May 31 and probably the stamping show in Grapevine mid-July. I will look up SITS.
DeleteI do indeed love blogs. If only I could quit my job and just blog hop all day!
What a pretty card, love the colors of it. Love that you stared on this in April, it's a great idea to get holiday cards done early. Great Job!!
ReplyDeleteOh this is just a beautiful card - great colors! Thanks for sharing at US!
ReplyDeleteLove the embossed banner - it really makes the sentiment pop! Beautiful colors as well. I hope that you are enjoying the fun during our Christmas in July festivities at Unscripted Sketches. Thanks for sharing your card with us :)
